Last year's race was the biggest and best ever, thanks in large part to the generous support of our community. This is A.V.R.E.'s only fundraising event and we are working to make it bigger and better yet. But, it's not just a fundraiser - it's a valuable opportunity to educate more people in our area about the services A.V.R.E. provides to people who are severely visually impaired and to connect A.V.R.E. with people who would benefit from services. Vision loss is one of the top concerns for those who are determined to maintain - or gain - their independence.
A.V.R.E covers a 12-county area in the Southern Tier. Your support helps us spread the word about vision rehabilitation to the estimated 30,000 people in our service territory who might benefit from services. The entire A.V.R.E. professional staff is involved the day of the race, as well as several dozen Lions and Tioga VELO volunteers. It is truly a group effort - we hope you will join us.
